
Careem, the Middle East’s leading Everything App, concluded 2024 with remarkable achievements, further cementing its position as a key player in the region’s digital ecosystem. Offering over 20 integrated services, Careem continued to simplify daily life for millions across the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan while creating substantial earning opportunities for its Captains. From expanding its food delivery services to launching innovative solutions in grocery and electronics delivery, Careem demonstrated a relentless focus on convenience and customer satisfaction throughout the year.
Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and Co-founder of Careem, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the platform by its users and partners. He emphasized the growth in the company’s offerings, particularly highlighting improvements in food and grocery delivery and the rising popularity of Careem Pay, which facilitated seamless payment solutions. Reflecting on the year’s achievements, he reaffirmed Careem’s commitment to delivering even greater value in 2025.
Among its notable expansions, Careem Food broadened its services to Abu Dhabi, building on its presence in Dubai, Riyadh, and Amman. The introduction of “Member Mondays” added further value to customers by offering exclusive deals. Careem DineOut, an in-app dining discovery and discounts platform, expanded its restaurant partnerships to include hundreds of new eateries, offering discounts of up to 50% and saving diners an average of $17 per booking. Careem Groceries saw a 66% increase in product range, reflecting a commitment to cater to a more diverse customer base. Additionally, the company launched a unique Udhiyah service for Eid Al Adha, allowing customers to order customizable meat for the occasion.
To meet the growing demand for electronics, Careem unveiled Quik Electronics, a 60-minute delivery service available in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This service provided customers with access to essential electronics, including smartphones, laptops, gaming consoles, and headsets. Careem Pay, the company’s digital payment arm, also expanded significantly, adding eight new international remittance corridors to countries such as the UK, the Philippines, Lebanon, and several in Europe. The platform’s ability to process cross-border payments in as little as 11 seconds further underscored its technological prowess.
Careem Plus, the company’s subscription service, proved to be a game-changer for members, who saved an average of $82 per month in the UAE through benefits such as free delivery on food and grocery orders, ride credits, and dining discounts. Some members achieved annual savings of over $3,000, showcasing the platform’s value.
In the ride-hailing segment, Careem facilitated over 90 million trips in 2024, covering more than 1 billion kilometers. The longest trip recorded was 920 kilometers, while the shortest was just 500 meters. Careem Bike, the company’s bike-sharing service, displaced nearly 2,000 tons of CO2, reducing emissions by 47% compared to 2023.
With these achievements, Careem has further solidified its reputation as an indispensable partner for millions of customers. Looking ahead to 2025, the company aims to build on its success by introducing new services and continuing to simplify and enrich the lives of people across the region.
